Momentum

Image Hosted by ImageShack.usFree Image Hosting at www.ImageShack.us It seems as though the momentum in the Lt.Governor's race has drastically switched over the last few months, favoring Sean Connaughton for the nomination. In an excerpt from an e-mail sent out by the campaign, it appears that the campaign will be announcing new endorsements tommorrow in the Tidewater area... Sean Connaughton, chairman-at large of the Prince William Board of County Supervisors and a candidate for the Republican nomination for lieutenant governor of Virginia in the June 14 primary election, will hold a NEWS CONFERENCE at 10 a.m. Wednesday, May 11, in the interior courtyard of the Virginia Beach Courthouse at 2401 Courthouse Dr. in Virginia Beach. Chairman Connaughton will announce new endorsements for his campaign. Master of ceremonies will be Mark McKinney, chairman of the Virginia Beach Republican Party. -Bill Kling Sean Connaughton has already recieved the endorsment of the Chairman of the Virginia Beach Republican party, as well as the endorsment of right-wing Pat Robertson. If the campaign can pull another State Senator or two , and some more Delegates, the entire Tidewater area could go pro-Connaughton. Bill Bolling hasn't seemed to be making many new inroads anywhere, but he will be attending an event at Delegate Dick Blacks house in Ashburn this Saturday.

Mark my words, TC. Bolling will go ballistically negative in the last few weeks. He already has shown no inhibition about attacking Connaughton's personal integrity and blasting around the idea that rising PW home values are engineered by Connaughton to stealthily raise taxes. They put out a deceptive brochure tricked out to make it appear that Jerry Kilgore is endorsing or joining a Bolling attack on Connaughton. Knowing Bolling, and knowing the Marcus/Allen style, I'd be pulling on the high waders if I were Mr. Connaughton.
