MSN has the report. Appears TRMPAC got nailed by a Fedral Grand Jury. What does the future have for our Leader? More to follow.

Isn't this the same prosecutor who indicted Senator Kay Bailey Hutchinson shortly before an election, only to have the charge laughed out of court?

Any marginally competent prosecutor can get a ham sandwich indicted by a grand jury.

It is a STATE not Federal prosecutor who is quoted in the article so I would assume it is a state grand jury not a federal grand jury.

It is the same prosecutor who indicted Sen. Hutchinson. He has yet to get a conviction in this case. Everything I have read in the newspapers about this case indicate that the PAC was following the same procedures used by both Democrats and Repulbicans and that this is a politically motivated prosecution.

If Delay would just come out and say "I'm just in it for the bitches and cash" I think all would be forgiven :)

They also got a local business organization for 3 counts.

Sounds like the total amount is like $100,000 or something, and the fine if convicted on a count is about $20,000 or so -- and note this is an indictment of an organization, nobody goes to jail for this.

To contrast, in the federal system we have the FEC so we don't have to drag prosecuters and grand juries into the fray. And it is not a rare occurance for even the candidate's OWN campaign organization to get hit for much larger transgressions than this one.

But at least now we know what the democrats might be screaming about in the next two weeks after the Katrina misinformation is debunked.

It's been between 2-4 weeks for each new "scandal".
