From the Mail Box

From my mailbox today... I know in hit pieces, dumb pictures are common, But..I had to look twice... Yes, that is Tim Kaine, with a Corn Dog in his hand. Kilgore must be mass mailing to all NOVA voters. Craddock's also looks mass mailed. Craddocks works perfectly. His district is less than 10 minutes from the problems in Herndon. Do we remember, Jerry's running on a ticket with a man who said "There is no transportation crisis!"

Clearly Kaine is trying to corner the Northern Virginia Corn Dog vote. I think it's a shrewed tactic. There are a lot of one-issue voters, particularly in McLean and Great Falls, who vote solely on the basis of a candidate's position on Corn Dogs.

Does this mean that Kilgore is taken a position against corn dogs? If so, I may to rethink who gets my support. Not supporting corn dogs is completely unamerican.

That Kilgore mailer was the second I've gotten from him in three days. No other campaign literature as yet in Western Prince William. I did notice the corn dog as well...made me hungry.

Campaigns target their mail. If you've been ID'd as a Republican by all three campaigns, don't expect much mail from anyone other than who they ID'd you as supporting.

The question is not whether you are id'ed as a consistent voter, or a Republican or a Democrat. The question is have you been id'ed as pro-corn dog or anti-corn dog. That is what the campaigns are really concentrating on at this point. That is the issue that this election turns on.

Russ Potts used to be pro-corndog in 2003, but this year is anti-corndog. He thinks anyone who is pro-corndog is immoral.

Talk about your targeting. If a person who just moved into NoVA received this flyer, they'd swear that Jerry was a NoVA metrosexual just like them while thinking that Kaine looks like Corky from that show "Life Goes On" with that big smile of his and a corndog in hand.

I love corndogs, so this is something that could effect my vote.

But I note that Kaine has not taken a bite out of his corn dog.

So I guess he is for corn dogs, but against eating them.

Forget about the corn dog, there's something else going on in this picture. I've got all the details, just head over my way.

I'm south of the Occoquan, TC. The good ole exurbs where we know what is going on.

We should have done our own caption contest a la "Commonwealth Conservative" with Kaine and the Corndog. Some popular Democrat lines of late could be easily substituted here:

* I invented the corndog.

* I voted to buy the corndog before I voted against eating the corndog.

So what exactly is "Transporation?"

You guys spend an awful lot of time giggling over a corndog like little school girls, but didn't catch that glaring mistake?

Good thing it went out to thousands of people in Northern VA!
