Kilgore/Kaine = Bush/Kerry

The Kilgore/Kaine race is in some ways a playback of the Bush/Kerry battle. I've seen at least two places where the confusion ran so deep that folks actually started putting Bush/Cheney signs back up. Here are a few of the ways, big & small, that the two races seem to be the same. 1. Tim Kaine's Website- the "creative genius' for his website (logo, layout, design) borrowed heavily from the Kerry campaign. 2. Regional Differences- Kilgore has to drive up the margin in the western part of the state to counter the deficits he'll face in the northeastern part of the state, just as the President countered the deep-blue New England/Mid-Atlantic with the rock ribbed western/midwest plains states. 3. Kilgore Ad Strategy- BC'04 led off with a positive ad before going negative on the next one. Kilgore led off positive education ads before hitting Kaine for having a hole (or two) in his bucket. 4. Much of the Staff for both campaigns Obviously there are lots of differences, many more than similiarities, but they are still interesting to consider.

You're altogether wrong.

Kaine's site
Kerry's site

They're extremely dissimilar. Navigation, colors, columnar layout, fonts -- very different.

Likewise, the logos are totally different. The Kerry/Edwards featured the U.S. flag, Kaine's features a red map of Virginia. Kerry/Edwards' was a serif-based font, rendered in a light gray, Kaine's is a pure white, sans serif (Impact is the name of the font), italic.

Much of the Staff for both campaigns

I don't know a soul who works for the Kaine campaign who worked for Kerry's campaign. I'm not saying that there isn't anybody -- I can't claim to know everybody -- but I certainly can't think of a one. I can't speak for Kilgore's campaign.

There may be similarities in the races, but neither of these are them.
