Russ Potts Watch

News from my un-official 'Russ Potts Watch: T-50 Days', Potts is up on TV with an ad that I think is a strong contender for the 'Funniest Ad of the Campaign' Award. In the ad, the legion of Virginians supporting the Sage of Winchester chant "We want Potts" and clank on pots with various kitchen utensils. The comical affair features people of all races and gender, in a variety of dress and roles. At the end of the commercial, the good Senator Potts stands at a podium exhorting the Potts' legion to "Let 'em hear us!". I don't know if I laughed more because I saw a Russ Potts commercial or because the sight of people banging on pots is just good fun. And this has been your un-official 'Russ Potts Watch: T-50 Days'.

I can't really think people are going to be much more than annoyed by the ad. It is _amazingly_ annoying even the FIRST time through. What will people be saying after the twentith time through?

We won't have to worry about that since he doesn't have the money to run it where someone would have seen it 20 times.

no, that Connaughton ad that made fun of Bolling was way better. Apparently, President Bush even laughed at it.

I haven't seen it yet, although I believe it's running in the Roanoke market right now. I'm looking forward to seeing (once).

Thankfully, the Russ Potts Campaign has posted the commercial on their website, www.russpotts.com so that all can enjoy the new ad.

The anonymous poster was right- after the initial humor of seeing a Russ Potts commercial, its really an annoying commercial. Its not very well staged (man starts clanking on his pot before the announcer tells him how wonderful Russ Potts is), kids look like they were let out of their cages to shoot the ad, and the crowd immediately becomes silent when the Sage begins to speak. Plus, its 60 seconds of people banging on pots.
