Giuliani "Gets Motivated" Instead of Visiting NH and IA

Hotline On Call blog had this post about how Rudy Giuliani is avoiding the pre-pre-primaries in NH and IA and instead opting for the speaking circuit as a part of the "Get Motivated" seminar. Now, my coworkers and I went to one of these a year and a half ago here in D.C. at the MCI Center as a group event for work. It was so bad, I (and several of my coworkers) left before Giuliani even spoke. After hearing people hawking day trading schemes and motivational books for 8 hours, the only thing we were motivated to do was get out of there even if we hadn't heard Giuliani speak yet. If anything, his association with this rolling side-show of has-beens and never-weres damages his stature. The husband and wife team that run this must be raking in the bucks from it, though, since I saw them a few weeks later back in D.C. at the President's Dinner fundraiser. Here's the listing for the event that I had to attend:

"Get Motivated" Featuring former Mayor Rudolph Giuliani, Olympic Pairs Gold Medalists Jame Sale & David Pelletier, Zig Ziglar, Oscar winning actress Goldie Hawn, Rick Belluzzo and Tom Hopkins. Tickets are priced at $225.00 for individual seats or $49.50 for office groups of 10 or more (limited offer).
Goldie Hawn was a no-show and they replaced her with Pvt. Jessica Lynch in her first (and possibly last) appearance as a motivational speaker.

He'd make a great NY Gov. I'd have problems with him as President, though.
