The Night

3 hours of sleep last night. In the 67th, over 20 volunteers did thousands of lit drops last night, while the Caputo campaign slept. Constantly ran into Kaine people. They blanketed South Riding with a pro-education piece. In the mostly Republican Western Fairfax to Kaine, the Kilgore camp was no where to be seen. I still stick by my earlier statement, the momentum is with Kaine.

Out here in Vienna there is a strong Hyland presence, but little for the ticket. My understanding is we've got a great phone system rolling with the Hunter Mill leadership.

On a side note Mary Dotson from Raising Kaine is here chatting it up. She is an actual person and not a Chad rip off. Her husbands family is even from Wise County. I sense a relation here.

Turn out has been solid here for the small size of a precinct. Heavy Dem though.

The bulk of Kilgore folks are mostly hired guns from out of state too. They'll be less succesful at the doors both because they are paid (always less enthusiasm than volunteers) and especially since the first question out of any true Virginian's mouth is "So where are ya'll from?" :)

The delegates volunteers actually CARE, and that's what makes them so much more effective.

A voter just showed up with a Kilgore hanger with the wrong precinct. Fifth one today.

The hanger was so far off that they did not even send the people to a place in the Town of Vienna, but into the county.

Word is there are reports of the same thing in Arlington and Alenandria. As well as supposed robo calls.

Incompetence or dirty tricks?

The Caputo campaign was working door to door, neighbor to neighbor, carpool to carpool. Lit drops are okay but real people talking to real people get crossovers. Hundreds of them. We know them because we worked with them as Republicans in previous elections and in other Civic activities. Do you really think Saint Tims is going to vote for that dim-bulb evangelical cretin? The people of the 67th have far more pride than that! Craddock's candidacy is offensive to adults.
