Woah...

I was checking out Ngo's map of the Lt.Governor's race..when I thought I saw a mistake. Had I missed it? Loudoun County voted for Leslie Byrne.... How could Byrne lose PWC, but win Loudoun? In PWC McQuigg, Frederick, and Parrish all had Dems. come at least within 25% .Besides the Black race, Loudoun delegates didn't have real races. The demographics in Loudoun are more white, and more Christian than PWC, but it went for Byrne...

I think you hit it right on the head. Because there were few contested local races, the electorate felt less motivated to go to the polls.
Had every race in Loundon been contested, you would have seen a higher turnout -- likewise a higher GOP turnout.

If I understand correctly, Roemmelt beat Marshall in all 6 precincts in Loudoun.

Something happened to the republicans in Loudoun. We need to figure out where they were hiding, and get them to come back out.

Bolling, Black, Marshall, and Craddock were simply not conservative enough to win Loudoun. We need to run real conservatives the next time instead of these RINOs.

Yes, I think that was the problem. The Republicans in Loudon County are not conservative enough to win. The Republicans must nominate more conservative candidates.

Yes, let's get more conservative than Black. That's the right way to go if I ever heard one! Can you hear the oozing sarcasm????

Since sarcasm abounds in this thread, let me lend my support to the idea that we ought to keep painting ourselves into smaller and smaller corners until victory is achieved. I tell you, who says this party lacks intellectual heft?
