HOT Lanes Take Another Step Forward

Looks like HOT Lanes will be a reality in Virginia sooner rather than later with construction beginning as early as 2007 on the stretch between D.C. and Fredericksburg.

Boy what a surprise. There's a great transportation idea!

Typically idiotic Virginia thinking.

Also supposedly transformation to HOT Lanes would not be feasible to take place until late 2008 earliest. They have to go through several reviews now.

Enjoy sitting in six lanes of very slow traffic soon!

Oh by the way the average toll from Fredericksburg would have to be around $40 one way (Fred. to DC during rush hour) to discourage enough drivers from riding by themselves and for the road to pay for itself. - according to COG analysis. Sounds like a good idea to me!

Hey .... if $40 is what it takes for those willing to pay ... let 'em!
