Sad Day for South Carolina

My friend over at Palmetto Neocon looks into the recent death of former South Carolina governor Carroll Campbell. This is a big blow to the Republican party in the South. Carroll Campbell's son Mike is running for Lt. Governor, and has recently hired former Virginia TAR Chairman Adam Piper as his Political Director. Piper went down to SC, after working for rogue Senator Russ Potts. Mike Campbell is running against sitting Republican Lt. Governor Andre Bauer. This race will be very interesting to watch in the coming months. May Governor Campbell Rest in Peace.

Piper didn't "go down to SC" ... he goes to school there and is now a senior. He was down there during the fall semester even as Potts campaign was going on ... not sure who filled in for him though.

Carroll Campbell was very impressive. I knew him slightly (and testified before one of his committees) when he was in the House of Representatives. I was very sorry to see the news on this

I was always a big Campbell fan and had expected him to run for Senate or even President at one point. His illness and death robbed the country of a great public servant.
