Staton Telephone Call

Well I think I found out where that extra Dick Black money went... I just recieved a paid call from Mick Staton. He made no mention of opponent Randy Minchew in the race, and acted as though he was the only candidate. The questions were in this order:taxes, two on abortion, the 2nd ammendment, and political affiliation. The survey ended with, can I count on your vote? MY ANSWER:NO If I provided a ride to the polls or babysitting can I count on your vote? MY ANSWER:Still NO Paid for by Friends of Mick Staton... and mention of his new website

Am I out of touch to have the feeling that abortion is not a big issue in the Virginia General Assembly at the moment? why does this arise now?

Saw Mick Staton in person for the first time yesterday at the Mims announcement. Mick does not look like his father, who was a WVA Congressman in the 1980's or the pics on his web pages - Mick reminds me of a little "minnie me"
Bill Bolling - but at least Bill doesn't change his positions on tax increases.

Being in Mick Staton's district, I would appreciate any reference to where Mick Staton changed his tax positions. Although I try to follow as much as I can, it is possible that I may have missed something.

So please, if you have something that shows he changed his tax position, I would appreciate it.

Isn't exchanging babysitting services for votes illegal?

The Staton campaign is up and running. I don't see any sign of the Minchew campaign. This is a very short campaign. Is Minchew serious about this?

Supervisor Staton seems like a good guy, and yes his campaign seems to be marching full steam ahead...

I do not know the specifics of the tax-pledge he signed, and hope Supervisor Staton would answer those questions on the trail.

Mr.Minchew also seems to have a good campaign rolling too..

This race will be interesting, and the more I hear about it, the more I think Republicans should be able to win this now in the Special, regardless of the candidate.

I've checked out Mick's web site and one of the main issues highlighted on it is traffic on Route 7. I think that it will be hard to pigeonhole Mick into being a social conservative above all other things at the expense of the bread and butter issues voters care about. Both Mick and Randy are great guys and either one of them would serve this district well.

So, let the record show that this commentator on TC is neutral in this race until the GOP nod is decided.
