Central VA becoming NOVA?

Bob Gibson from the Daily Press has a great article on the ever expanding Northern Virginia, and just how far South it will go. Politically...this seems bad for Republicans. It's really worth a read.

It's not necessarily bad -- as someone who worked with the statewide voter file, I saw in lots of places where there was a significant number of incorrect Change of Address voters. For example, a voter may have lived in Henrico, but they got their mail in Fairfax. It's a voter file flub.

It's good for Tom Davis -- it means that if he chooses to run statewide there are a lot of his former constituents that now live in places like Stafford, Orange, Henrico, etc. In fact, it means that Connaughton's performance is the base of a NoVa candidate's performance in a primary -- and Davis can improve on it, with many of those former NoVa voters who have moved out for retirement, or bigger homes and longer commutes.
