Fairfax Chairmans Race

Anyone heard anything more on a possible inner-party race against current FCRC Chairman Eric Lundberg? I have heard that one-time discussed challenger Juanita Balenger will not be running. Less than a week left, and it appears regardless of the nameless flyers and small minority who disagree with the Chairman, that he is around to stay.

A birdie told me Chris Craddock wants to run.

Maybe TC's 2nd favorite elected official should run! Tom Davis for County Chairman!

I mean the idea of Sean running in PWC was so brilliant ... why not Tom in Fairfax!

2nd favorite???

Who did you rank him below and why?

Not a bad idea..but working in D.C, he probably wouldnt have time.

As far as the first persons Craddock rumor...

While Chris is an "outsider" to the Fairfax GOP, I dont believe he will run for that position.

Funny, I would have ranked Davis third on your list of favorite electeds, based on previous comments. My list is...

1. Chairman Sean
2. Frank Wolf
3. Tom Davis
4. Sean Connaughton again, just to be safe
5. JeanMarie Devolites-Davis
6. Steve Danziger
7. Marty Nohe
8. Micheal Frye
9. Dave Albo
10. Tim Hugo

Am I close?

To be clear, that is MY GUESS for YOUR LIST... not my list. Mine would be much different.

Ha Mitchs Wife.

Even though this is way off the thread..

my list would probably be something like this

1-chairman sean
2-congressman davis
3-delegate tom rust
4-senator devolites-davis
5-supervisor nohe
6-delegate chris saxman

..and then some others..but thats my top 6 i'd say.

I dont count steve as a major elect, he's the man..but I just dont think of him that way.

As far as Mychele Bryckner..I doubt that.

As Congressman Davis supports Eric Lundberg..and Mycheles daughter works for Tom right now on the hill...I dont see that going on.

Mea culpa on missing Rust... should have been a no brainer.

Saxman I wouldn't have guessed, but a good choice.

A birdie told me that Ken Mehlman will be running for FCRC Chairman. He does not want to lose Virginia in 2008.

Chirp, chirp: a "birde" told me this weekend that Bill Lockhart will not be seeking re-election as Arlington Co. Republican Chairman. No candidates have surfaced there yet. Jim Kaplan is running for GOP Chairman in the City of Fairfax, and he is unopposed.

Maybe Morton Blackwell will run for Arlington Chairman? He's caused enough problems there. Maybe he could try to fix things.

What about Kevin Gentry?

Smart Guy. Knows how to raise money.

While he is excellent at fundraising, Kevin Gentry lives in Fairfax County. He is Eastern Vice-Chairman for the State Party.

We're discussing the Fairfax race in this thread.

I say we start a "Draft Gentry" movement along with the Danziger one in PWC.

Gentry over Lundberg?

why would michelle brickner ever run against eric lundberg?

the person fueling this is juanita balinger. she has an axe to grind with eric becuase he chose thompson jr. over her to be 2nd vice chair. ever since juanita has been a divisive member of fcrc and has caused the meetings to turn into shouting matches by whispering into the ears of other members.

basically, whoever sent out the flier does not really care about the fate of the committee, but about satisfying their ego and taking revenge on eric, which is childish. the fact that it was done anonymously is evidence to this.

Lundberg is a superb FCRC Chairman who deserves both respect and support. He should be chairing that RPV Nova Strike Force that is charged with creating a Republican game plan for re-establishing a Republican majority in Northern Virginia. While Eric worked hard for the Chris Craddock campaign, he knows that more Chris Craddock Republican nominees will continue to build the ranks of Democratic elected officials.

Eric appointed Thompson Jr to be First Vice Chairman for the county, not Second Vice Chairman. Juanita has already been a First Vice Chairman, so why would be that again?

Eric has never appointed anyone to be Second Vice Chairman. Second Vice Chairman is the office manager for the county party HQ. The Second Vice Chairman spends the day in the office and keeps things humming. But Eric has not been able to find someone to fill this roll. In effect, the FCRC had to hire an Executive Director because the Chairman could not find a volunteer to be office manager. Michelle, the ED, did an excellent job, and she did do more then be an office manager, but, basically, she was a paid employee doing what was normally done by volunteers.

Juanita was asked to run by some crazy wackos like Jack Kinney who want to see the party falter but WHO OH WHO could they pick now?

The clock is ticking wackos and no one is coming up to bat.

anon 12:48, juanita balinger is the main agitator of the group. that being said, i support open debate on different ways to secure wins for the gop. however, jb and her crew have done nothing but AGITATE eric's leadership.
