From the Mailbox:Mick Staton

Maybe taking a suggestion from the bloggers..in what I believe is Staton's first post-primary mailer he tackles development. Great thing to discuss. In Western Fairfax we're already fully developed , but in Eastern Loudoun they struggle with this problem constantly.

Lower taxes, make the developers pay their fair share - By golly, the guy sounds like Sean Connaughton! It's a formula that should work in general elections in Northern Virginia. Watch all the Rs who get past the primaries now try to become mini-Connaughtons. Whether it works for Staton will be seen soon enough. I must admit I had never really thought of him as a guy who made the developer community toe the line. But stranger makeovers have happened in politics. It shows that he knows this is an issue with the electorate.

Right! The only way Mick Staton has made the developers pay is into his campaign fund. Check out the following web sites:
http://inetdocs.loudoun.gov/genregelectbrd/docs/electoralboard_/2006campaignfin_/january172006_/boardofsupervis_/index.htm, http://www.loudounsfuture.org/issues/developerinfluence/index.html and http://www.vpap.org/cands/cand_indus_level1.cfm?ToKey=COM00916&CycleID=2003&CycleType=Regular.

Each one shows somewhere between 40-50% of his donations comes from developer/real estate interest. Mick has no shame. He will do anything to get elected just like his father-in-law.
