I think it is time for Robertson to retire. He has had a long and fruitful career and it's a shame for him to sully all those years with a few crazy statements.

pat robertson says the most hurtful, idiotic things. but c'mon all, you know a lot of people feel that way! isn't that the predominant image of God in conservative culture--a vengeful, angry Almighty? i think we're so obsessed with what might be a "punishment" from God, that we lose sight of the blessings.

As a Christian, I have a lot of trouble thinking of death as a "punishment" from God. Not sure what God thinks. Seems like it might be a reward. Unless, unless the Reverend Mr. Robertson is reasonably certain that the target, be it Sharon or the new Dover, PA school board, faces certain eternal damnation. That's the kind of thing I am never certain o. Mr. Robertson is far better infomred on such matters, no doubt.

I agree with Pat! In the OT, the Jews would constantly pull away from God, and His reaction would not be a light one. Biblically, it seems to make sense.
