VCG Endorses Staton

VIRGINIA CLUB FOR GROWTH PAC http://pac.virginiaclubforgrowth.org NEWS FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE: Jan. 2, 2006 CONTACT: Phil Rodokanakis (571) 748-3191 Mick Staton for 33rd Senate District The Virginia Club for Growth PAC announced today its endorsement of Mick Staton in the Special Election for the 33rd District in the Senate of Virginia. “Mick Staton has worked hard to ensure that the citizens of Loudoun County are protected against soaring tax increases,” said Phil Rodokanakis, the President of the Virginia Club for Growth. “Mick Staton’s opponent, Randy Minchew supported the sales tax referendum in 2002 and refused to sign a taxpayer protection pledge.” Mick Staton is a member of the Board of Supervisors in Loudoun County and has signed the taxpayer protection pledge not to raise taxes. Consistent with the Club’s pledge he signed in 2003, Mick voted against the budget in 2004 because it didn’t lower taxes enough. He voted for the budget in 2005 because it was the largest tax rate decrease in Loudoun County’s history. Currently, he is proposing to return millions of dollars in surplus funds to county citizens through a tax rebate. Mick Staton’s campaign platform is clearly outlined on his website at http://www.mickstaton.com. The date for the Special Election has not been set yet. Registered voters should pay close attention to any announcements in the local newspapers. Voters can find out if they are in the 33rd Senate District by visiting http://www.mickstaton.com/map.php. The Virginia Club for Growth PAC is a state Political Action Committee, comprised of Virginia citizens and taxpayers dedicated to fighting for lower taxes, reduced regulatory burdens, controlled government spending, and other policies that will expand overall economic growth and prosperity for the working people of Virginia. ### Authorized and Paid for by the Virginia Club for Growth PAC Please do NOT "Reply" to this email -- Replies or other comments should be directed to president@virginiaclubforgrowth.org

What a joke! According to the newspapers, the average tax bill in Loudoun went up almost $700 this year which is well above inflation rate and population growth. So much for the "principled" VCG and the Tax Pledge that Staton signed. Is there any political organization out there that stands by its principles?!!!

The Club for Growth has been pounding the table for years that lowering the tax rate not enough to offset the rise in property values was a TAX INCREASE. Now they say that is actually a TAX DECREASE.

The Club for Growth is like the Ministry of Truth in Orwell's 1984. One day Oceania is at war with Eurasia and it has always been at war with them and at peace with Eastasia. The next day Oceania is a war with Eastasia and it has always been at war with them and at peace with Eurasia. I can't believe the Club for Growth thinks we are all that stupid!

The point here is that simply electing the "right people" is not the answer. We need to band together as citizens and ensure these people stick by their campaign promises and truly hold the line on taxes.

I think this is great. The conservatives are getting in line behind their own!

Does anyone who if Minchew has earned the endorsement of any of our party's conservatives? (TC doesn't count!)

This is also the same VCAP that gave $10,300 of its total $42,800 2005 campaign kitty - to Chris "Africans will have sex with anything that has a pulse" Craddock.

Blackout- You might want to read the above comments again. VCAP is different from the Club for growth.

And re: the Craddock quote, if you read the teacher's comments from the newspaper you'd have realized that that quote was a ficticious story made up by a bunch of high school Caputo volunteers.

Ooops... meant VCG. Sorry. Anyway, why so much to Craddock?

Not related to this issue... but it's probably because Chris is a solid conservative. I'd suggest asking VCAP if you'd like a better explaination.

Mentioned because VCG worked hard in a primary to unseat a delegate who would have won and Republicans ended up losing this seat. Deja vu all over again in the 33rd?
